Platinised Anodes ( Pt Anode ) are produced by coating platinum ( Pt ) on a specially treated precious metal ( Titanium / Niobium / Tantalum / Zirconium ) substrate by means of electrodeposition process. They are economical as well as it retains the superior physical and chemical properties of platinum.
According to the substrate material used, the platinized anodes are classified as
TiTaN's platinized niobium wire anodes are designed for effective operating in fresh, brackish and saltwater; used in all types of aqueous storage and process equipment. These anode aren't adversely affected by high chloride concentrations. Also platinized tubular / rod anodes are used for cathodic protection in seawater environment Because of its low consumption rate, the anode may be employed in a cathodic protection system to achieve a long life.
TiTaN offers the PLATMA series platinized Titanium insoluble anodes for Copper applications for printed circuits using pulse periodic reverse (PPR) technology, with an Iridium or Mixed Metal Oxide (MMO) -coated Ti substrate.
Use of special type anodes increases in the electroplating bath’s life. Anode maintenance is also minimised and there is no need to stop lines to clean and replenish anodes, change anode bags and re-film anodes. This increases the productivity and a reduction in labour costs. Insoluble special anodes also prevent potential problems with metal particulates associated with soluble anodes, which threaten to come onto on the plated substrate, creating a reject.

Plating of fine chromium structure over rotogravure cylinders / rollers protects the engraved copper deposits and the cylinder from wear caused by paper and grit abrasion under normal conditions during press runs of any length. Thus enabling the cylinder to print in clearer, sharper lines for the long run with greater corrosion resistance.
